Vikings Sign Former Gophers DE Anthony Jacobs

Anthony Jacobs was among the former Gophers who tried out for the Vikings at their rookie minicamp over the weekend. Obviously the Vikings liked what they saw because on Tuesday they signed Jacobs, adding him to the long list of undrafted free agent defensive linemen they’ve picked up.

Jacobs is described by Pro Football Weekly as an “undersized, durable, athletic defensive tackle with nice arm length who is quick off the ball and gives effort in pursuit.” He put up pretty good numbers at Gophers pro day and was a running back in high school.

Jacobs hopes to join fellow former Gopher Marcus Sherels as a rookie camp try out who made it all the way to the big squad.
