After this morning’s signing of Trevor Guyton you had to feel like a bunch more draft picks were about to be locked up. And that feeling was correct. On Tuesday afternoon the announcements came fast and furious. After Audie Cole signed, next came sixth round kicker Blair Walsh. And fifth round defensive back Robert Blanton. And both fourth-rounders, receivers Jarius Wright and Greg Childs.

For those keeping score, that means 6 of the Vikings’ 10 draft picks are now locked up. Matt Kalil, Harrison Smith, Josh Robinson and Rhett Ellison are the four guys still waiting, but it won’t be long for them either. All deals announced today are for four years, as per the requirements of the new rules regarding rookie contracts.

Next up for the above-listed 2012 draftees now that they’ve got their contracts, the first round of OTAs set to begin May 29th.
