You know the NFL season must be drawing nearer if we’re talking about Percy Harvin’s practice status. Good news: the habitual practice-skipper Harvin is participating in his first OTA drills of the year today. I guess that means Adrian Peterson had to find a different hill-racing partner. Harvin, who had routine non-worrisome shoulder surgery a month or so ago, missed all the on-field activities in the first OTA session last week as a precaution. But he’s full-go now. At least until some other issue crops up. And you know another issue will crop up. This is Percy Harvin we’re talking about. The young man has issues.
In other Vikings receiver news, today the team signed UDFA A.J. Love. The 6-2, 208-pound wide out went to South Florida where in 2011 he racked up 9 catches for 122 yards and 1 TD. Does the term “racked up” really apply there? Love missed all of 2010 with a knee injury after posting decent numbers his first two years. The Vikings like those undrafted guys whose careers were sort of messed up by injury don’t they?
