The first day of minicamp had some drama. Percy Harvin talked to reporters about some “issues” he was having with the team, and this led to immediate speculation that Harvin plans to hold out of training camp. Harvin wouldn’t specify what the issues were but some including Tom Pelissero assumed right away he was referring to his contract. Harvin has two years left on his rookie deal, and Pelissero said it “stands to reason” that he would want that contract redone.

But then again, maybe not. According to Ian Rapoport of Rap Sheet fame, it “sounds like” Harvin’s unspecified issues aren’t contract related. So they’re issues that he’s upset about but they don’t have anything to do with his deal. What do they have to do with then? Maybe Leslie Frazier would care to clarify? When asked about Harvin’s statement Frazier would only say he plans to talk things through with Percy and that he’s confident they can get things worked out.

So, no clarification from Frazier. There are issues, possibly contract-related or possibly not contract-related depending on what reporter you listen to, that may or may not cause Harvin to skip training camp. Okay got it.
