Percy Harvin Has Asked the Vikings to Trade Him

AP Sports Guy Jon Krawczynski just dropped a Viking-related bomb on Twitter. He reports that disgruntled – he’s officially disgruntled now – wide receiver Percy Harvin has requested that the Vikings trade him.

Why exactly Harvin wants out of Minnesota is a mystery that has yet to be penetrated. On the first day of minicamp Tuesday, Harvin told reporters he had “issues” with the team but wouldn’t elaborate. Speculation was that Harvin in unhappy with his contract, but other reported that the contract was not behind Harvin’s disgruntlement.

So what the heck IS up with Percy? Some wonder if it’s his role in the offense that has him ticked. Others has speculated that he’s unhappy with the team’s rebuilding process. Still others think perhaps Percy doesn’t like the quarterback situation in Minnesota.

Percy himself can clear all this up by giving an explanation, but so far he’s been reluctant to do that. If this is merely a move to get a new contract…well, we’ll have to see what the Vikings’ next move is, but I highly doubt they will accommodate Percy by trading him.
