Adrian Peterson Returns to Practice

Here’s a sight that should make every Viking fan happy: Adrian Peterson participating in Sunday morning’s walk through. We heard Adrian might be coming off the PUP list soon and returning to the practice field, but no confirmation was given ahead of Peterson’s emergence. He was just there suddenly. Like Superman.

Despite his return to practice, it’s unlikely Adrian will be on the field for the Vikings’ game Friday against Buffalo. If he does see any preseason action it will probably be in game 3 at home against San Diego. Adrian said all along he wanted to be back in the line-up for the season opener and it now looks like that will indeed happen. Knee surgery? What knee surgery?

Actually, I’m guessing Rick Spielman and Leslie Frazier would be happier to see Adrian sit out entirely until the opener if not beyond, but you know how Adrian is. He wants to play. Reportedly he’s been harping on the coaching staff and Spielman pretty much unrelentingly since the opening of camp. They finally gave in and let him have his way.
