Paul Charchian’s On-Air Vikings Rant: Yay or Nay?

Noted Twin Cities radio and TV personality Paul Charchian went off on the Vikings after Sunday’s loss. His rant against the Vikes basically consisted of him saying the word “p**ed” over and over again while rattling off everything that went wrong. And then he called for coaches to be fired. Mock outrage? Check. Calling for heads? Check. Firing up fans by repeating every fan complaint in the kind of calculatedly blunt and simplistic language that some people mistake for refreshing plain-spokenness? Check.

If only Christian Ponder knew the Vikings playbook as well as Charchian knows the media hack playbook. The Vikes would be in the playoffs for sure! No doubt Charch has already FedExed a copy of his somewhat forced rant to ESPN’s First Take. Soon he’ll have his seat right there next to Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. That man can pander like a boss. I give him total credit. He needs to work on his look though. Face for radio, am I right?

uh, as far as I can tell amongst every Viking fan I’ve spoken to, Carchian nailed everything we were feeling. Armchair coach or not, the Vikes get paid a lot of money to succeed and they’re not succeeding. Case closed.

To the writer of this lame article, this guy Charchian was only speaking what every “nitwit fan” saw during the game yesterday, the continued mistakes that are costing the Vikings games they very well could be winning. Yesterdays game was extremely winnable for the Vikings and yet they walked away with another loss – translates to us “nitwit fans” being very frustrated and Charchian is only expressing his frustration. Its been too many years now that the Vikings have been inept in too many areas. Fans are letting the Vikings know enough is enough, we support the Vikes but they can also give a reason to feel like its worth the time to spend the money to go to the games and cheer at the top of our lungs for this team right now. And as far as his face, are you really that arrogant to make fun of what a person looks like?!?! Done reading your articles. Go Vikes!

Not really sure what the author of this article has stuck in his crack about Charchian, but there was ZERO to disagree with in his remarks. Sounds more like the author, Dan Zinski is more upset that Charchian might move on to a larger stage than the issues with the Vikes. Maybe Dan can give us HIS insight, rather than turning his column into a piece that should be on TMZ.

Wow Dan, you’re take is so witty and scathing. You, are a writer that’s truly on “the edge” Lighten up Dan-O, it was just words from a frustrated fan telling it like it is. Hit the showers.

Charchian just said it the way it is; this life time fan feels the same way!
