Christian Ponder Declared Inactive, Joe Webb Will Start

Christian Ponder led the Vikings to the playoffs but because of a bad elbow he will not get to continue the run into the postseason. The Vikings have been forced to declare Ponder inactive and will turn to Joe Webb as their starting QB. McLeod Bethel-Thompson will be the back-up quarterback.

Joe Webb starts his first game since January 2, 2010 when he replaced Brett Favre. Now he replaces Ponder. Webb against the Packers in Lambeau Field? We know Webb presents unique challenges for a defense but how much can we really expect from him with so little preparation? How long before the Packers solve the challenge of Webb?

Even more onus will now be placed on Adrian Peterson and the defense. The Vikings’ long odds just got longer. I don’t know how they can possibly hope to win this game with a back-up QB stepping in after two years without a start. If Webb and the Vikings do win this game it will be one of the greatest upsets of all time.

To all you Webb heads who have been screaming for Webb to replace Ponder, talking about how much better he is than Ponder, you finally got your wish. Happy? Not only are you all idiots, but you could not possibly have been more wrong about Webb. He lost this game single handedly.
