Jared Allen is Restoring the Mullet

Jared Allen is ditching the clean-cut look and returning to the Mullet Militia. The Vikings’ well-compensated defensive end made the announcement via Twitter, saying “The only way to come back from surgery is with an amazing mullet. Foundation has been laid.” Jared had surgery to repair a torn labrum earlier this offseason and is on the comeback trail. As is his mullet.

With the mullet restored, Jared should be in line for about 17 sacks I figure. That’s my prediction. For those keeping track, that would be $1 million-per-sack if Jared’s contract isn’t renegotiated. Maybe that thing should be renegotiated.

Actually, forget the mullet. Let’s just hope Jared is healthy in 2013. He was clearly not right in 2012. He fell off his Pro Bowl level but of course still made the Pro Bowl because everyone makes the Pro Bowl. If Jared’s body holds up, he should have a better 2013.

The Vikings could help his stubborn butt out by rotating him to the bench a little more often and getting Everson Griffen some more looks. Just a suggestion.
