In today’s NFL, linebackers don’t seem to get a lot of credit unless they’re known as pass rushing specialists. However, when the NFL players voted on the “Top 100 Players of 2013″ list, they did not forget about Chad Greenway. They named him the #70 player on their countdown.
It is amazing that Greenway has lead the Vikings in tackles the last five years. It shows how solid of a tackler he is and how aggressively he pursues ball-carriers. In fact, Greenway was third in the NFL in total tackles last season as well as the season before that. That amazing statistic also shows Chad Greenway’s durability. Over the course of his six season since being drafted out of the University of Iowa, he has only missed one game because of injury.
The team hasn’t ignored his solid play either. The Vikings have rewarded him with a contract that keeps him in Minnesota through the 2015 season. With the consistency and high level of play that Greenway brings to the team, Vikings fans can expect to be cheering him on for a very long time.
