It may only be the first week of Vikings Organized Team Activities, but rookie Wide Receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is already making a splash.  The 29th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft has been named the starting Kick Returner for the team.

The team is still having an open competition for Punt Returner.  Patterson will compete with five other players who will be given looks on punt returns.  Patterson’s elusiveness and speed give him a big advantage over other players trying out for the job.

Expect Patterson to be eased into the offense and split time with fellow Wide Receiver Jerome Simpson.  He needs to work on refining his raw skills and becoming a starting caliber NFL player.  In the meantime, we can see Patterson electrifying crowds on kick returns this coming season.
