Fred Smoot Did a Reddit AMA, and Things Got Graphic

What happens when former Vikings cornerback Fred Smoot participates in a Reddit AMA? We learn colorful new phrases. Phrases like “running through the okra patch.” I would explain what this means but, well, it’s a family blog. If you’re curious, there’s always Urban Dictionary. Or you could go over and read Fred’s AMA which is filled with lots of other interesting stuff as well.

For instance, Fred admits at one point that he didn’t really like working out when he was a player:

"Coming into the league I was real skinny. I would work out to get ready for the season but I didn’t really work out as much as I probably should have just to give myself a bit more protection but I honestly didn’t work out that much. I did it for the girls if I did!Now I still don’t do a lot of working out but I wish I had just for the sake of my body and the toll of an NFL career. I’m just a skinny guy."

So let me get this straight. The Vikings signed this guy to a $34 million free agent contract but he didn’t feel obligated to get in top physical shape? Yeah that sounds like Fred Smoot all over. Just when you think you can’t possibly hate this guy more, he raises the bar. Or lowers it. Or whatever.

What next Fred? Gonna strangle a puppy? That’s about the only thing left. Get this guy out of our lives. Please.
