Sharrif Floyd Quiet In First Start

First round draft pick Sharrif Floyd got his first start of the year on Sunday when the Vikings faced the Detroit Lions on the road.  Many Vikings fans have high expectations for the former Florida Gator when he fell to the Vikings in the draft this year.

Sadly, Floyd did not live up to the expectations.  Floyd didn’t register a single tackle and failed to get pressure on Detroit’s quarterback, Matt Stafford.  Despite these struggles, Floyd will continue to get the start until Kevin Williams is fully recovered from his knee injury.

Sharrif Floyd did manage to get one pass defended, but Vikings fans should expect more from the explosive young player.  We’ll most likely get to see a lot more of him in week 2 when the Vikings face off against the Chicago Bears.
