The Minnesota Vikings finally get back their All-Pro fullback, Jerome Felton. Felton was serving a three game suspension for violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy, but is now able to return to the squad. Jerome acts as Adrian Peterson’s bulldozer and is an excellent blocker in pass protection. The Vikings activated Felton this week.
Conveniently, rookie fullback Zach Line has been placed in Injured Reserve. The reason for him being placed on IR is unclear, but it does secure the Vikings rights to the young player and clears up a spot for Felton to return. Line was an undrafted free agent who really impressed the coaching staff and fans in the preseason. His rookie season will end after playing 68 snaps for the team.
Essentially, the Vikings just swapped Line for Felton after week 3. It will be interesting to see if the change at fullback can help spark this struggling Minnesota football team.
