Today, the Vikings signed defensive end Justin Trattou to their active 53 man roster. Trattou played his college football at the University of Florida and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants in 2011. Since then, he has played just three defensive snaps for the Giants prior to his release. If Trattou is active on game day, look for him to be primarily a special teams player.
To make room for Trattou, the Vikings released defensive end George Johnson. Johnson was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 2010 before being picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He landed on injured reserve in 2011 and the Vikings signed him in 2012 . He was an active member of the 53 man roster prior to his release.
