Vikings Assistant GM George Paton Scouts Teddy Bridgewater Tonight

Earlier today in conjunction with the news that Christian Ponder was more effectively benched rather than the team hiding behind the fact he had a rib injury, TVA caught wind of the fact via Rick Bozich’s twitter feed that Vikings Assistant GM George Paton would be on hand to watch Teddy Bridgewater of the Louisville Cardinals square off against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Sources have confirmed to TVA that Paton is indeed there to watch the phenom quarterback. If only Louisville’s AD or whomever is in charge could get the spelling of his name right. Not any former Army generals on staff that we’re aware of.

For those that know anything on Bridgewater he possesses a powerful arm with natural accuracy and has above average footwork. It’s widely assumed that he’ll go in the top five picks of the upcoming draft, if not the top overall pick. Odds are the Vikings won’t be in position to take him, however there’s always the outside chance of a trade up and at this point the worst they could finish is 1-15.

The Vikings currently have a smorgasbord at the quarterback position of Matt Cassel, Josh Freeman and lastly Christian Ponder. As to who their starting 2014 QB is, well that’s anyone’s guess.
