Jay Cutler Leaves Bears-Redskins Game With Apparent Hip Injury

The Bears have been on a nice early season run thanks in large part to their new-fangled Marc Trestman-designed, Jay Cutler-led offense (and a shored-up offensive line). But not so fast Bears fans, things may have come off the tracks in Washington. Jay Cutler appears to have suffered a bad hip injury while being sacked and has left the game.

Replays didn’t really show what happened to Cutler, who was taken down and rolled over by the Redskins defender, but it was obvious Cutler was in a lot of pain. Cutler was able to walk off very slowly and gingerly and was immediately taken to the locker room by Bears medical staff.

With Cutler out, Josh McCown came in at QB for Chicago, and immediately took off on a run that ended with him being tackled out of bounds. Probably not a smart move with no other QBs available for Chicago.

We’ll keep our eye out for a medical update on Cutler. If Cutler has to miss a significant amount of time, look for the Bears to start ringing up QBs. What’s Donovan McNabb up to these days?
