Cordarrelle Patterson Ties NFL Record With 109-Yard Kickoff Return For Touchdown (Video)

Cordarrelle Patterson on the kick return is the Vikings’ best offensive weapon outside of Adrian Peterson. He showed it again Sunday night by housing the opening kickoff from 9 yards deep in the end zone. Patterson’s return ties the NFL record for longest return of any type.

Things looked pretty good for the Vikes at that point, but the Packers quickly deflated the Purple with a methodical touchdown drive to tie the score. It wouldn’t been nice to follow up Patterson’s quick strike with a big defensive stand or a takeaway but it wasn’t to be.

Patterson now has two return TDs on the year. He was special teams player of the month for September and he may snag the same award for October.
