Over the last couple weeks, the Vikings have struggled to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks.  That definitely wasn’t the case against the Washington Redskins on Thursday Night Football.

Minnesota sacked elusive Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III four times during the game and pressured him much more often than that.  Here is a breakdown of the team’s sacks:

  • Kevin Williams – 2.5 sacks
  • Everson Griffen – 1 sack
  • Jared Allen – .5 sack

Kevin Williams started at nose tackle for the Vikings in place of the injured Guion and Evans.  He had a massive game, disrupting numerous plays and really helping to clog up with middle with the help of rookie Sharrif Floyd.

Minnesota takes on a patchwork offensive line in Seattle next week.  Their offensive tackles have struggled to contain the pass rush, and the Vikings could have a huge day if that trend continues.
