Adrian Peterson has been dealing with a groin issue the last few games.  It is one of the contributing factors in Toby Gerhart subbing in for Peterson last week in the game against the Seahawks.  After carrying the ball 21 times, Peterson expressed that his groin was bothering him a lot, and exited the game.

"“The groin has been bothering him,” Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said. “We’ll see what we need to do this week. Is he able to practice, or do we hold him back until Friday?”"

Peterson is confident that he will be good to go for the next week, but head coach Leslie Frazier is “cautiously optimistic” that he will be able to play. If for some reason Peterson is not healthy enough to play in the game on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, backup running back Toby Gerhart will get the start in his place. Gerhart is ready for action if he is called upon to play.

"“I just do my thing every week,” Gerhart said. “I go out and practice hard, and if my number gets called in the game, go out there and try to execute.”"
