The Vikings have released cornerback A.J. Jefferson.

Nov 3, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Minnesota Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson (24) intercepts a pass in front of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams (83) in the fourth quarter of the game at AT

This news comes after reports of Jefferson being arrested this morning on probable cause of domestic abuse.  It was confirmed by USA Today’s Tom Pelissero by the Hennepin County Jail that Jefferson is, in fact, detained there on those charges.

Minnesota is already struggling for depth at the cornerback position.  They have lost Josh Robinson due to injury and now have released A.J. Jefferson.  Look for the Vikings to add another defensive back with the roster spot that has opened up because of this transaction.
