Cole is a former seventh round draft pick who was recently released and signed back to the club.  He got his opportunity to start after Erin Henderson was dealing with “personal issues” (which turned out to be a DUI) and was taken out of the starting lineup.  Since then, Cole has made the most of his opportunities.  Here is a list of his statistics according to since being the starter:

  • Week 12 vs Green Bay:  13 combined tackles and one sack
  • Week 13 vs Chicago:  9 combined tackles and one pass defended

Erin Henderson will move to the outside linebacker position according to USA Today’s Tom Pellisero.  This will give the Vikings a starting linebacker group of Chad Greenway, Audie Cole, and Erin Henderson.
