Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings is continuing to defy odds. History hasn’t been very kind to 2,000 yard rushers in the past. Of the six previous players to accomplish the feat, none of them have reached 1,500 yards in the next season. However, Peterson isn’t your normal NFL running back.
Coming into week 14 of the NFL season, Adrian Peterson is leading the NFL in rushing yards (1,208), rushing touchdowns (10), and rushing yards per game (100.7). These are amazing statistics when you think about the multitude of injuries that he has suffered this year along with the off the field issues involving his family.
Peterson is on track to gain over 1,600 yards rushing this year. The criticisms of him in the media that he is “slowing down” or “over the hill” are absurd. Those terms only apply to human beings, and as Vikings fans have learned about Peterson, he is definitely not from this planet.
