Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback Christian Ponder suffered a concussion in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.   As of this writing, he has not yet been medically cleared as ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported through Twitter.

Head coach Leslie Frazier said that if Ponder is unable to play that backup Matt Cassel would be the starter on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.  Cassel has led the Vikings to all three of their wins this year (against Pittsburgh, Washington, and Chicago) and appears to be the quarterback that gives this squad their best chance to win going forward.

With Cassel the likely starter on Sunday, that would make first year Viking Josh Freeman his backup.  Freeman hasn’t seen action since earlier this year when he had an embarrassing game against the New York Giants on prime time television.

Why would ponder be cleared. Cause every week Frazier says he gives us the best chance to win. Coaching staff is lost!! Cassel gives us the best chance to win!!! It doesn’t take a genious to figure that out!!
