Cassel is 3-2 in the games that he has played in for the Vikings, which accounts for all three of the team’s wins this season. It is fairly obvious that he gives this team the best chance to win going forward with this team, despite the fact that Minnesota’s coaching staff feels that Christian Ponder is the guy that should start. However, Ponder has yet to clear the concussion protocol necessary to play.
Josh Freeman will act as Cassel’s backup for this game.
