John Carlson has really stepped up since the injury to usual starting tight end Kyle Rudolph.  He has led the team in receiving yards catches in several games now and was really taking advantage of his time on the field.  That time may have come to an end after the game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Carlson left the game with concussion-like symptoms.  That is terrible news for him, since he has had multiple concussions in the past.  After the game, Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier declined to give any more information about the tight end’s injury, which casts an even bigger shadow on the situation and gives fans even more to worry about.

With Rudolph still recovering from a foot injury, losing Carlson would be a huge blow to this team.  This would leave Chase Ford and Rhett Ellison as the tight ends for the team.  We will have more information about John Carlson’s injury later in the week.

The League ought to review the play in which Carlson was injured. It’s another example of a player slamming an opponent into the ground with unnecessary force. The game is getting out of hand.
