How do you cap off a perfectly crazy day of snow, injuries, bad refs, intemperate tweets and oh by the way some of the most insane football ever played on a professional field? You get stranded at the airport after your plane is hit by a catering truck. Of course.

Insane but true, the Vikings’ team plane was unable to take off after the game because of a collision with a catering truck. A new plane had to be flown down from Detroit to get the team back to Minnesota, leaving players with nothing to do but tweet.

“Apparently the catering truck ran into our plane,” Chase Baker complained via Twitter. “So we’re stuck here for three hours. Not the snow…the catering truck. #areyoujoking?!”

Jerome Felton chimed in, “Catering truck runs into plane, two hr delay, classic!”

Even the normally upbeat Paul Allen felt the stress, tweeting, “Sitting on a hot bus waiting for new plane to be prepped. Been an arduous one.”

The travel-related adversity began preying on the sanity of Viking players after awhile, as evidenced by this Sharrif Floyd tweet:

Sometimes the curtain gets peeled back a little too far.
