Despite all the injuries in last weeks contest against the Baltimore Ravens, the Vikings will have at least one player returning to the practice field.
It was announced on Monday by Minnesota’s head coach Leslie Frazier that Christian Ponder had passed all the necessary tests in order to be cleared for contact after a concussion against the Chicago Bears forced him out of that game. In his place, backup quarterback Matt Cassel nearly led to team to their fourth win of the year against the Ravens, but came up on the short end of the stick. Meanwhile, former Buccaneers starter Josh Freeman continues to collect a paycheck without the worry of having to see any game time.
While the starter for the next game against the Philadelphia Eagles is still unknown, we should find out some time in the next few days. It will be interesting to see if the team goes with the player who gives them the best chance to win, the player they want to evaluate, or the player they invested a first round draft pick in.
