The Vikings announced on Monday that they have placed tight end Kyle Rudolph on Injured Reserve, ending his year.  Earlier in the year, Rudolph fractured his foot and struggled to come back to the team.  Now that they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, there isn’t much reason left for him to come back to play.

Rudolph ‘s stat line ends as follows:

  • 30 Catches
  • 54 Targets
  • 313 Receiving Yards
  • 3 Touchdowns
  • 12 First Downs

With backup tight end John Carlson suffering a concussion in the last game against the Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota could be struggling for depth at the position until the end of the year.  This leaves them with Rhett Ellison and Chase Ford at tight end.
