Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed on Monday that Matt Cassel would be the team’s starting quarterback for the season finale against the Detroit Lions. With the Vikings season in the toilet, Minnesota wants to take this last opportunity to evaluate Matt Cassel. Cassel has the ability to stay with the team next year or void his contract.
“With one game left and having a chance to watch Matt play again, we made the decision and that’s probably the way we’ll go.” Frazier said.
Despite the team’s poor record and dismal play as of late, this is still an important game. This will be the last game ever played at the Metrodome before it is torn down to make room for the new stadium.
Will the Vikings go out with a BANG or a whimper? We’ll find out on Sunday against the Lions.
