2014 NFL Mock Draft: Vikings Select Quarterback Johnny Manziel

This week’s FanSided network mock draft comes courtesy of NFL Mocks, your draft news headquarters (which you should bookmark now so you can go there with a single click and get your draft news). Who do we have the Vikings taking this week?

#8 – Minnesota Vikings – Johnny Manziel – QB – Texas A&M

Yes, it’s a controversial pick but also one that makes sense.  Johnny Manziel is a top ten quarterback despite questions of his height and arm strength.  The Minnesota Vikings need a difference-maker at that position.  Nobody makes plays quite like he does.

Johnny Football is one of the more divisive figures in all of sports these days. Either you love him or you hate him. Lots of you will love this pick and lots of you will hate it.

One thing is for certain: John Football moves the needle. He gets people talking. He generates the buzzy buzz.

Whether he can produce on the field in the NFL, well that’s another matter. Some think his game won’t translate to the NFL. Others believe his talent is so overwhelming, he would force the NFL to adapt to him.

And we won’t know who’s right FOR YEARS.

looking at 2014 mock draft sites, the Vikings would select Johnny Manziel,QB,from Texas A&M,in the first round. that would be a BAD mistake ! not a team player !

As someone who doesn’t watch college ball all I have to go on is sports news and readers comments. With that said at first I didn’t want him but after watching his highlights I think he has the swagger and attitude and the drive to win we need to give this team a kick in the ass. But the thought of having a running QB vs a pocket passer scares me because we all know runners don’t last long. But just like Tark didn’t get hurt and I don’t see Wilson getting hurt and most likely Manziel won’t get hurt because not only do they have those survival skills but they are on the shorter end. So as of now I’m on the wagon for Johhny football.

The thought of Johnny, Patterson, Peterson all on the field at once is very intriguing.
