Vikings Lock Up #8 Pick In Upcoming Draft

It is now official.  The Vikings have the #8 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

It is a bittersweet position to be in.  When you select that early in the draft, you have a lot more options as to who you want to pick.  But it also means that you had a pretty bad season.

The Vikings ended the season 5-10-1.  Just last season, this Minnesota team had a 10-6 record and a wild card birth in the playoffs.

Who do you think the Vikings should look to select with the #8 overall pick?  Should they try to trade up or down?

I think the team should trade down and draft Boyd from clemson in the frist round (18-27). Witht the extra picks they can draft another MLB in the second round. With the additional second round pick they should draft a LG. With the two pick in the third round they should daft SS and OLB. The Fourth Round pick should be NT and CB. But don’t draft Johnny Football!

With the 8th pick the Minnesota Vikings select… Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M! Woo hoo!

They can either draft BPA or they can trade down, but they better not reach. I’m absolutely convinced they can land a QB after the 1st round. I’d like to see them trade down in the 1st and trade up in the the middle rounds unless they can land a beast Jadeveon Clowney for example, but they’ll be looking for a QB. Landing either a shutdown CB or a playmaking safety with the next 2 picks. With their second 3rd rounder and 4th round picks a monster DT and OG. With the remainder of picks they could add depth or upgrade at RB, D Line, and LB. Their main objective is to get it right with their first 5 picks, and with the remainder can take some a chance with someone who is falling down the draft board.

Manziel will be the best qb on the board him Patterson and Adrian with some read options and new coaching with a creative offensive coordinato
