Mike Mularkey Chooses Titans Over Vikings

Mike Zimmer doesn’t always get what he wants. He did get Norv Turner to run his offense, but he won’t get Mike Mularkey, who has chosen to join the Titans’ staff rather than move to Minnesota.

Mularkey will become either TE coach or QB coach in Tennessee. He was up for a positional coach job in Minnesota as well.

Norv Turner’s son Scott is believed to be a candidate for QB coach in Minnesota. Mike Zimmer’s son Adam could also take a job with the Vikings.

Zimmer also missed out on his first choice for defensive coordinator, Paul Guenther. The Vikings have instead hired George Edwards, formerly the LB coach of the Dolphins.

The Vikings still have a ton of spots to fill on their staff, and there are a couple of viable in-house candidates. Jeff Davidson could get a look to remain as OL coach, and Mike Priefer could still hang around as special teams coach.

And Brett Favre remains in play for QB coach, at least in our dreams.
