Zygi Wilf Supports "Courageous" Michael Sam

Michael Sam has chosen to pursue his NFL dream as an openly gay man, and Vikings owner Zygi Wilf supports him.

“We commend Michael Sam for being very courageous with his openness on something of such a personal nature,” Wilf said in a statement. “His comments will have no impact on how the Vikings view Michael as a football player or as a person. If a player can help us win, we will warmly welcome him as part of the team and provide an accepting, respectful and supportive environment to help him succeed in the NFL.”

That’s good Zygi. Cause you know, with the whole Mike Priefer thing, I was kind of worried the environment at Winter Park might be a tad less than accepting, respectful and supportive.

But now I feel completely re-assured and I’m sure Michael Sam does too.

Well, that takes care of that. No more image problem. Kluwe going to stop threatening a lawsuit now?

People going to stop making bad jokes about how the Vikings will never draft Michael Sam?

Mike Priefer better be a really darn good special teams coach, that’s all I’ve got to say.
