Kerry Rhodes Can Punt a Ball Farther Than Chris Kluwe (He Says)

Kerry Rhodes is trying to get back in the NFL after a year on the street, unable to find work as a safety. Maybe if teams don’t want him as a DB, they could sign him as a punter?

Rhodes made a crack about his punting prowess during a Q&A on Deadspin…at the expense of Chris Kluwe.

“How far can you punt a football?” asked Deadspin reader Raysism.

“Farther than Chris Kluwe,” replied Rhodes.

Rhodes may be blacklisted by the NFL, but he’s not barred from taking swipes.

Actually, according to Rhodes, he is in fact not blacklisted by the NFL. He couldn’t find work last year because no one wanted to pay him.

His failure to find employment had nothing to do with him being a rumored homosexual, as Chris Kluwe and others have alleged.

You hear that NFL executives? Rhodes isn’t accusing you of anything. Other people made those accusations, but not him.

Rhodes isn’t gay. He doesn’t think he was blacklisted. And he can punt farther than Chris Kluwe.

He can also play some safety, in case you’ve forgotten. Sign him up.

Hey ZInski, I’m not too good at reading into comments and I’m trying to take some lessons from the master. So when Rhodes says that his lack of employment last year had nothing to do with him being a rumored homosexual, that really means that he’s blaming Bill Musgrave for his failure to be able to do enough to get an offer from an NFL team, right?
