He may not be the big name cornerback or safety that a lot of Vikings fans were hoping for, but the Vikings made a move to solidify their offensive line on the first day of free agency.

Backup guard and center Joe Berger has returned to the team to act as a backup and compete for the starting job at left guard.  Berger has proven himself as a solid commodity for the Vikings, being able to step in when need and play at a high level.  His ability to play either center or guard make him even more of an asset.

Although the numbers on the deal aren’t out, it looks to be a one year deal.  Still, it’s good to know that the Vikings are looking for some stability with a familiar face on the offensive line.

I dont know if you are a fan of the Vikes or not but you are a tool for calling them a garbage franchise. When a team has as many holes to fill as the Vikes do you can not in any way go out and spend all you got on 1 or 2 guys, its just not the way to build… Joseph, Munnerlyn, and Cox were all very good signings, they addressed 3 positions of need and saved alot of cash doing so, Brinkley is for depth but is a solid STs contributor and against the run….. Munnerlyn is one of the top nickel backs in the league and Cox was in the pro bowl just 3 short seasons ago, yes he struggled in SD but I think the scheme there was not for him.. he is a low risk HIGH reward guy. Linval Joseph, IMO, was the best NT on the market this year… plus they brought back some key guys that were on the roster, Griffen, Berger,Cassel, and Asiata… so with the new staff helping out, Spielman is doing the right things to address as many needs as possible with limited cap space left… Phenominal job

We’ve been intentional and methodical. Hopefully, we get a closer on the back-end today!
