This could affect Henry Melton’s free agent value in a negative way.
Just as Melton is being looked over by the Vikings, surveillance video has surfaced showing the former Bears defensive tackle fighting with the manager of a Grapevine, Texas sports bar.
On the video, taken in December, Melton is seen punching and biting the victim Donald Payne before being dragged off the premises by several men.
The victim is now suing Melton for a million dollars.
Payne’s attorney says Melton bit through his client’s skin near his kidney and also punched him. Melton was arrested by police after the incident and charged with assault and public intoxication.
Melton’s agent responded in a statement to WFAA television in Dallas, “We have recently reviewed the lawsuit and do not believe the validity of the allegations made. We look forward to providing the true facts in court and will defend this matter vigorously. We will seek to hold The Chill and others accountable for any and all damages Henry has suffered at the hands of multiple men who attacked him.”
Melton has scheduled a free agent visit with the Vikings.
