Vikings Staff Meeting With Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater Today

The Vikings may have brought back Matt Cassel this offseason, but that doesn’t mean that their search for the quarterback of the future is over.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, members of the Vikings staff arrived to Louisville’s pro day early and decided to check out their star quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater.

Minnesota already showed interest in Bridgewater previously.  They had high profile scouts attending a game against Rutgers and have since been known to be at least somewhat interested in the quarterback that many NFL experts are declaring as the best passer in the draft class.

You’d have to think that the Vikings would consider him heavily if he is there with the #8 overall pick.  Minnesota may even consider trading up to get him.

Bridgewater should be a fairly hot commodity on draft day.  He shows the skills and maturity of a quarterback that could be very successful in the NFL.

Slick Rick, you need to trade up and get this kid. He’s the real deal.

With just a TEENY, TINY bit of reservation, and hindsight being 20 / 20, I concur. SKOL

If Mack or one of the top CB’s are not their I see the Vikings trading down as low as pick 15 and picking up some extra picks ~ However if they can find a trading partner I look ofr them to pick the BPA ~ Will that be a QB ? It could be yet I dont see them trading up with the Rams ~ It would take a RG3 kind of trade and IMHO there isn’t a QB ib this years draft worth that kid of move ~ But if they do take a QB or trade up to get one of the so called top 3 QB’s then I will root for him to play outstanding football ~ And hopefully they want rush him into the starting lineup ~ Hopefully Cassel will play well enough to keep the rookie QB on the bench the first season ~ Just some thought from a old man who has been a Vikings only fan sense 1969 ~
