DT Guion Signs One Year Deal With Packers

Prior to the Green Bay Packers signing Julius Peppers, there was a rumor going around that Jared Allen wanted to join their team.  Vikings fans screamed foul at this, and didn’t want to see their former star sign with the division rival.

You can expect much less panic from fans in Minnesota about Green Bay’s most recent signing.

Former Vikings defensive tackle Letroy Guion has agreed to a one year deal with the Packers.  He will compete for playing time with them.

Meanwhile, the Vikings upgraded their defensive line by the acquisition of defensive tackle Linval Joseph and the re-signing of defensive end Everson Griffen.  They also have an open line of discussion with free agent defensive tackle Henry Melton.

Best of luck to Guion in the future…except when he’s playing the Vikings, of course.

Q the Packers fans that say that the Vikings sign all of their discarded players?…. Oh wait

    • Ben

Just because Packers sign one Viking doesn’t mean that the Vikings haven’t signed plenty of Packers. I’m sure we’ll enjoy Guion as much as you enjoy Jennings or Bishop. The difference is we aren’t paying him $9 million!

        Fudge Packers….lmao….

      • Wayne Davis

Funny cause I’m pretty sure we didn’t pay the ship 9 million…. As far as Jennings he led the team with passes And yardage.. And as far as I know Bishop is no longer with the team whats your point

        • Ben

Ha, you tout leading the ViQueens in receiving yards as an achievement. That wasn’t even good for 40th in the league. James Jones had more that Jennings. And don’t say it was due to the QB because we didn’t have Rogers half the season. My point is paying $1 million for a backup DT is value…paying $9 million for a dime-a-dozen receiver with no QB to throw to him is frivolous.

I wasent touting anything in not Delusional like some Vikings fans or even some packers fans …since you brought up the league way didn’t you say how high your Green Bay WRs were at anyway clearly your a douche bag because only a DBag would call minn Viqueens(5yr) bahaha

By they way your comment alone validated my comment lmao

ooo ya! ( 9mil ) now we see why they dont spend any $ in FA, That is a sucky signing.

I’m truly disappointed with Spielman at this point. Paying a part time player, that is Griffen, $7.03 million a year because he’s younger may not be the right answer. I really like the Linval Joseph signing. $6.3 million a year average is OK by me. I’d take the chance on Allen at 8 million per for 2-3 years and let Griffen walk. Draft his replacement in this deep draft. The problem on this defense up front has been the 0 technique. Since big Pat left the middle has been soft. Of course the DB situation and the LBs have been equally as awful…As for the peppers signing in Green Bay, meh…He’s getting old at 34 and $10 million a season is a reach as Allen and He are similar except Jared is only 31…Capt’n Munnerlyn is an instant upgrade, but who wouldn’t be? Larry Dean and Sherels are special teamers. Please don’t tell me how good Sherels played last year. The guys is just awful besides returning punts…

Allen WAS the face of this team on defense. Who is it now?…Crickets
