Kurt Coleman Has Contract Offer From Vikings, No Deal Yet

The Kurt Coleman Watch is officially on. The former Eagles safety visited the Vikings this week and was offered a contract, but he ended up leaving town without signing and is now mulling his options.

Coleman previously spoke with several other teams including the Colts. Does this officially make him a sought-after free agent?

And the lucky team that finally lands Mr. Coleman, what will they be getting? A special teams player with starting experience who lost his starting gig in Philly last year largely due to poor performance in run support.

He did have four interceptions in 2011, so he’s got that going for him.

Should Coleman ultimately sign with the Vikings, he would immediately enter the conversation as a starting safety. Jamarca Sanford and Andrew Sendejo have both had their moments but neither one has locked down the starting job opposite Harrison Smith.

Okay, so the Kurt Coleman Watch isn’t exactly exciting. But what else are you going to do while you wait for the draft?
