This weekend’s insanely massive all-consuming Donald Sterling racist poopstorm is reverberating well outside the confines of the NBA. The ripples are being felt even in the hallowed halls of the NFL, where Roger Goodell rules like the king on his Gridiron Throne.

Above all, the Sterling mess has reminded Goodell of the importance of maintaining a good, solid, non-controversial public image as regards matters of race.

Cause you really really really don’t want to end up like Donald Sterling. And you certainly don’t want your league having to answer for the remarks of people like Sterling.

Just ask NBA commissioner Adam Silver. When he’s done crying.

With Silver’s plight well in mind, Goodell will reportedly take the opportunity to give his owners a little refresher on how to properly comport themselves. Ian Rapoport says that Goodell is expected to specifically address the Sterling matter at the May 20th League Spring Meeting in Atlanta.

It shouldn’t be too hard for Goodell to get his message across. All he needs is to show the owners a tape of the Clippers players piling their warm-ups at midcourt in a pre-game show of protest against Sterling and his on-tape racist remarks.

While he’s at it, Goodell might want to also offer a little course on how to deal with a crazy gold digging girlfriend. Some rich people seem to struggle with that.
