Things keep changing in the NFL.  This is especially true about draft day.  Rumors are that after changing the date of the event, that they’re talking about altering the location, duration and other things about it.

If you tune into the 2014 NFL Draft, you’ll see something quite different this year after a player is selected.  Now, the player selected will have their choice of music played as they walk up to the podium on day one of the draft.

That information was shared by Rich Eisen on Twitter.  Here is the post he made:

There are some instances where you should be able to guess what song the players will select.  For example, I expect Drake’s song “Draft Day” to play when Johnny Manziel gets selected.  Manziel gets name dropped in the song and is known to be friends with Drake.

Initially, Jadeveon Clowney chose the song “Handsome and Wealthy” by Migos, but changed his mind.  It is likely that Clowney was asked to change his song after realizing the content might not be appropriate for television.  Odds are that the songs that are chosen by the players will either have to be free of vulgar language or at least be edited to be radio friendly.

In this day of endorsements and networking, this is a great opportunity for players to start working on their image at the 2014 NFL Draft.  Some folks may identify with a player because of the song that is chosen by the player to walk up to.  You can see things like that happen with the UFC and WWE when the athletes make their entrance.  Remember, image is very important to these guys, but hopefully one of them has a sense of humor and plays something fun and surprising at the 2014 NFL Draft.
