Albert Breer is working the Vikings facility today and he has come up with a possibly useful piece of information.

Per Mr. Breer, the Vikings have narrowed down their Big Board and identified five players they would be comfortable picking at #8.

Only five? That’s not that many.

This probably explains why the Vikings reportedly have also spoken to five teams about a trade down.

Breer does not seem to know which five teams the Vikings have discussed a trade with, or how extensive the conversations actually were.

Did they only touch base with those teams or did they really get into the nitty-gritty of working out a potential deal?

Such details are not going to be available before the draft. All we have are these little shards that we are cobbling together into pictures.

One piece of speculation has the Vikings talking trade with Dallas, who might be looking to move into the top 10 for Johnny Manziel.

Then again, Dallas’ interest level in Manziel is not even certain. Some say Manziel is the #1 QB on their board, some say it’s Blake Bortles.

It could be Tajh Boyd for all we know.

The draft nears…
