2014 NFL Draft: Fits For The Vikings In Round 2 and 3

Now that the Vikings have selected Teddy Bridgewater and Anthony Barr on day one of the 2014 draft, it is time for Minnesota to fill in other needs and holes on the roster.

Here is the ammunition that the Vikings have to work with going into day 2:

  • 3rd Round (No. 72)
  • 3rd Round from Seahawks (No. 96)
  • 5th Round from Browns (No. 145)
  • 5th Round (No. 148)
  • 6th Round (No. 184)
  • 7th Round (No. 223)

Vikings general manager Rick Spielman could wheel and deal his way to any pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, so let’s take a look at 10 players who could have their name called by the Vikings and be good fits with the team:

Did I miss a player in my top 10 remaining that you think would be a great fit for the Vikings?  Is one player that I listed not a good fit according to you?  Would you love to see Minnesota trade up for one of the top remaining prospects?

Pierre Desir would be an awesome pick for the Vikes, BUT we’d probably have to trade up to get him in the 2nd. For our two 3rd rounders I’d like to see the Vikes take Lamarcus Joyner (S/CB) or Cyril Richardson. Brock Vereen would be an awesome pick in a latter round. Also for the later rounds I’d like to see De’Anthony Thomas… I DROOL just thinking about an offense with Peterson, Jennings, Patterson, Rudolph, Bridgewater, and Thomas… There’s just no way to game plan against that. Wanna see the Vikes add some competition at LB and take Jordan Tripp from Montana (it’s my home state and rival college, and the kids a hell of a player.)

Some awfully good running backs and corners are dropping. This is a good situation for Minnesota!

Word has it “no more trade ups” … Felt true since minny did get back into the 2nd ….still a lot of great players avail …unfortunately a lot of your 10 are gone already … I would love McGill or Vereen there’s a few good DTs left
