Minnesota Adds Several Undrafted Free Agents

After the draft, teams scramble to pick up the top players that weren’t chosen.  These players are called undrafted free agents (or UDFA for short).  With this being one of the deepest drafts in many years, there is a lot of talent left unclaimed and the Vikings want a piece of that action.

Here are some undrafted free agents the Minnesota Vikings have been invited to training camp or offered contracts since the end of the draft:

With many more players that are going to be signing soon, expect Minnesota to be active in getting high quality players to bring into training camp to compete for spots on the roster.  Also, expect some player cuts soon to make room on the roster for these players to come in and compete.

What do you think of the current crop of undrafted free agents?

If we dont get Skov or bailey, then wth are we doing

  • Wayne Davis

Feels like we should have traded back into the 4th an grabbed some players sooner ..,we’ll see how this plays out

  • David Mallow

I hope they sign SS Craig Loston, MLB Shayne Skov .. both are definitely worth a shot and should make the final roster easily…but I did like the Vikings overall draft. solid with 4 value picks (Yankey, Exum, Watts and Price) that more than likely WILL make the roster.. very exciting things ahead for us all

    • Bobby Gedde

They didn’t get Skov he went to Oakland

  • Parody Parody

No LBs at all in that list. I have a feeling that means Zimmer is very high on the young talent that we already have. Mauti, Cole and Hodges are on the verge of a breakout. I can feel it!

Viking’s biggest mistake was not getting a deep threat X WR to challenge Jerome Simpson. This draft was deep in WRs but the 4 undrafted free agent WRs lack the size and speed combination.

    • Turdd Ferguson

Don’t underestimate Lora, he was a beast for Jimmy Garoppolo

      • MikeH123

The Vikings would have to be desperate or insane to play Lora at X WR. Short with short arms and not a blazer has him slotted as a slot WR. Better to play Jerome Simpson, even Homer Simpson.

  • Turdd Ferguson

Almost every great highlight throw from Jimmy Garoppolo was to his favorite target Lora. That pick up has me more excited than almost the rest of the draft.

  • Paul Engleson

I still want to know why they didn’t chose C. J. Mosley

  • Gordon Guffey

I love the draft and all the UDFA ~ Why because the coaches and Spielman picked them out ~ And I know for a fact they know more than any of us what they needed to fit their needs ~ So I love them all ~ What more needs to be said ~ Teddy is growing on me ~ I wasn’t real happy with that pick at first because I didn’t like any of the QB’s in this class in the first round ~ However they got him with the last pick in the first so you cant get any closer to the second round than that ~ LOL ~

    • MikeH123

You sound like the typical American voter who trusts corrupt politicians. The Vikings got no deep threat X WR so maybe it is OK they didn’t get a QB with a strong arm. But I wanted a QB-WR combo that could stretch the field for AD.

I live in Ohio and follow the Buckeyes football team each year. I can honestly say that Kenny Guiton is one of the best, both mentally and physically, prepared quaterbacks to ever play for Ohio State. He was unfortunate enough to be sandwiched between two of the best dual-threat quarterbacks to ever play.
