Minneapolis native Nick Swardson takes his Vikings very seriously.

He also takes his drinking very seriously if this video is any indication.

Warning: NSFW very bad language (like Mike Zimmer-level bad).

Nick Swardson would like to have a word with Rick Spielman after the Vikings passed up Johnny Manziel with their first round selection.

How mad was Nick later on when he discovered that the Vikings would have had a second chance to draft Manziel but were beaten to the punch by Cleveland?

That video hopefully will never surface.

Me, I think the Vikings will be okay with Teddy Bridgewater, but whatever.

I’m not going to get on Nick Swardson. He’s a passionate fan. He wanted Johnny Manziel in Minnesota.

It was kind of his dream and his dream kind of got pooped on by Rick Spielman. At least he still has booze to keep him company.

I would like to see Swardsons face when Bridgewater is an elite passer and Manziel is a second Tim Tebow…

    • trinity

Exactly. I’m with you 100% there. The Vikings would have made a bad decision in taking manziel. That comedian most likely wants him because he’s “box office”. As if that matters lol. Winning is box office too.

    • MikeH123

Manziel is a far more accurate passer than Tebow. I have never heard anyone else make that comparison. Manziel is more like Tarkenton and a little Favre.

      • Bob E.

Manziel passes? Lol but in all seriousness he needs to become Tarkenton/Wilson with his skill set and he could be great. Currently he breaks the pocket way too fast, and dives into defenders, Tebow was big enough to take hits from NFL players, Manziel will be on a stretcher his 3rd game if he plays like that…and the reason you haven’t heard that comparison is because saying Johnny Football could very well be out of the league in 3 years doesn’t get ratings. Also, though accurate, Manziel has seriously questionable arm strength. We are way better off with Bridgewater.

        • MikeH123

Considering the Vikings face 8 man boxes designed to stop AD the QB has to be either big or elusive. Tebow was big while Manziel is elusive (but yes he will need to stay in the pocket more in the NFL). Bridgewater has neither size or elusiveness and will get killed if he doesn’t get bigger and stronger. Manziel has more arm strength than Bridgewater. Tebow had arm strength but no accuracy and that is why he will never be a starting QB in the NFL again.

          • Bob E.

No he doesnt need to be big or elusive… He needs to to what Teddy does, step up into the pocket, go through his progressions and go to his check down in a clinch (could have a worse check down than AD right!?) Not break an overflowing pocket two seconds sooner than he needs to. We need a QB that forces teams to not overload the box cuz they respect our passing game, which will open more holes for AD. Manziel’s arm strength has been questioned several times by analysts and scouts, I have heard anything against Teddy’s arm strength. His 50 yard bombs on his highlight reel leave few questions in my eyes. Teddy’s style of play translates to success at the Pro level, Manziel will have to change his whole style of play to make it happen. Someone has to be drinking some pretty strong Kool-Aid to think a bad Pro Day changes the fact the Bridgewater is a game changing winner. Just my opinion, hope they both succeed and play for 15 years.

          • MikeH123

Your opinion is not consistent with those of football analysts and even Teddy himself who say he needs to get bigger and stronger. Analysts have also consistently said Manziel has more arm strength than Bridgewater.

        • Wesley Stolz

You haven’t been watching Manziel too much have you? Manziel put up over 4000 yards last season in the toughest conference in the country for quarterbacks. Yea, you’re right…he can’t pass at all! Genius!

          • Bob E.

I was obviously kidding. Hence the lol and “in a seriousness” bits… It was a quip targeted at Manziels tendency to run… The fact that I have to reiterate something so painfully obvious tells who the real genius is…

Awards on is correct should have been manziel thee goes more chances passed up by mn to have winning seaso

I can understand now why the Vikings took Barr over Manziel. Obviously they don’t think Griffen is anywhere near as good as Jared Allen for rushing the passer and you can’t play Aaron Rodgers, Cutler and Stafford without a big time pass rusher. There were only 3 pass rushers with the potential of Jared Allen in the draft and the other 2 were gone already (Clowney and Mack).

    • Riley Emmer

I think they believe in Griffen, but no they don’t think he’ll be Jared. I think the Barr pick would have happened even if we still had Jared. Barr will be playing (most likely) the Sam LB. I just think Zimmer hates Rodgers and Cutler as much as any Minnesotan should, and wants to see them cry twice a year. But seriously, I see the Scott Crichton pick as a rotation pick/grooming to replace Robison (who’s getting up there in age), and the Barr pick as a pass rushing LB. Zimmer, in the past, has liked his DEs to focus on stopping the run first, so having a LB that specializes in putting the pressure on the QB allows them to do so. (Side note: Barr was ranked higher as a LB than Mack by most experts right when the season ended. So before the Combine/prodays.) Our D-line will be fresh all game with the depth that’s being added, and if things go as planned our pass rush will be absurd. At first I was peeved at the fact that a CB wasn’t targeted early, but it makes sense that the passing game all starts behind the line of scrimmage. SO if you get enough disruption back there it lessens the pressure put on your DBs. VERY excited about the future of the Vikings. We’ll see how it all plays out. SKOL!!!!

The Vikings did the right thing passing on manziel. I think teddy will do well
