The Vikings have a large contingent of undrafted free agents set to come in and show off their skills at rookie camp this week. Then there are the unsung players who will attend the camp on a try out basis, just hoping to get some kind of a shot.
At least three small college players from the state of Minnesota will be among those attending the camp, per various reports.
Aaron Wilson reported on Saturday that Minnesota State-Mankato DE Chris Schaudt has been invited to the camp for a look. The 6-4, 272 pound Schaudt got a little steam as a potential UDFA and has a legit chance to hang on as a defensive line prospect.
The 5-10, 225-pound Walker scored his invite from the Vikings after participating in U of M pro day, where he posted a 4.50 40 time.
“I got the call from the Vikings this morning. They said they liked what they saw at the Pro Day. Now I have the opportunity to come in and compete,” Walker told the St. Cloud Times.
The 6-6, 245 pound Reierson played two years at UMD after spending two years in the Wisconsin Badgers program. He also worked out at U of M pro day, running a 4.88 40.
Rookie camp kicks off on Thursday.
