Josh Samuda Moved to Injured Reserve

Offensive tackle Josh Samuda experienced a major career set back last month when, while participating in the Vikings’ voluntary offseason program, he suffered a gruesome freak ankle injury.

On Tuesday, the Vikings announced that Samuda had been waived along with RB Bradley Randle, LB Terrell Manning and LB Simoni Lawrence.

Wednesday we learned that Samuda was waived with the injured designation, and has been placed on injured reserve by the Vikings.

Samuda isn’t going to be ready to participate at all this season after that nasty injury, but by placing him on IR, the Vikings can hold onto him through the season and decide what they want to do.

A native of Birmingham, England, Samuda entered the NFL in 2012 as a UDFA with the Miami Dolphins. He signed a futures contract with the Vikings in early 2014 and was in the mix as a potential practice squad player before injuring his ankle.
