Some guys hate practicing (looking at you Percy Harvin), but Teddy Bridgewater isn’t one of those guys. A noted football nerd, Bridgewater loves every aspect of the process, including OTA sessions. Bridgewater loves practice so much that it actually makes him sad when other obligations, like last week’s NFLPA rookie premiere event, call him away from the field.
“I’m one of those guys who wants to be with his teammates,” Bridgewater said via the Star-Trib. “I know there will be events like that that come up that I’ll have to attend, but I was pretty bummed that I have to miss practice for two days. But it was great to be back out there [Wednesday].”
Bridgewater reportedly got zero first team reps during OTA day 4 on Wednesday. The rookie received first team reps the first day of OTAs and then was absent the second two days. So, he has thus far received only a scant number of first team reps (if you are keeping track).
Matt Cassel, as expected, has gotten the majority of the work with the first team during OTAs and will go into training camp as the heavy favorite to claim the starting job. But don’t put anything past Teddy Bridgewater, practice nut and certified football geek.
