We’ve known for a while that veteran wide receiver Greg Jennings thinks really highly of second year pass catcher and kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson, but Jennings just raised the stakes to a whole new dimension.

In Ben Goessling’s column at ESPN, he had an article that included a “They Said It” portion and had this quote from when Greg Jennings was asked how high he thinks the ceiling is for Cordarrelle Patterson’s future in the NFL:

"“I would say the sky’s the limit, but there’s no ceiling to his potential. There really isn’t. If he’s willing to put in the time, the potential is there. He has everything he needs. He’s starting to mature as a player, as an individual, so his success is going to shoot straight through the roof. I’m excited. I told him this, and maybe it was a little premature, but I told him, ‘At some point, I’m going to tell my kids I played with Cordarrelle Patterson.'”"

That is an unbelievable statement from a player like Greg Jennings.  Jennings has played with some of the greats in the NFL, including Brett Favre and Donald Driver, so to think that one day his children would want to her a story about  him playing football with Cordarrelle Patterson is amazing.

As fans, it is easy to be amazed and astounded watching a player make an amazing play, but to hear this kind of praise from Jennings after playing only one year so far with Cordarrelle Patterson is amazing.  It really speaks to Patterson’s physical abilities and potential in the NFL.

Now, it is up to Cordarrelle Patterson to realize this potential in his first full year as a starting wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings.
